New Year's Resolution for 2012

Ok I am not big on making a plan for the New Year but I do have a few things in mind for 2012.

1. Clean out my closet and donate anything not worn over the last twelve months to charity.

2. Organize my kitchen cupboards and donate at least a full bag of food to a local food pantry.

3. I will be more aware of what I eat instead of grabbing the whole bag I will take only 4 or 5 chips.

4. Post more often on my blog and find new ones to follow.

5. Read at least six new books in 2012.

6. Go for a long walk several times each week.

7. Write letters more often to family.

8. Cook up a new recipe every week.

9. Smile even when I might not really want to and cry when I feel like it.

10. Feel no guilt if I do not get it all done.

Give A Little

I think we all need to remember that it does not take that much money or time to do something that really helps someone else.

Give to a cause you like big and small it all adds up to something good.

Fizz Bath Shop Review

Super Fizzing Wonderful!!

Fizz Bath Shop sent a wonderful box of their bath and body products to me for review on my blog. I enjoyed just smelling, touching and looking at them. They have the cutest stuff not only is it cute but it smells wonderful and made my skin feel very soft.


Relax Bath Fizz
This has the wonderful smell of Lavender. I really enjoyed my bath and did indeed feel relaxed and renewed.


Grapefruit Sugar Scrub
I have always liked sugar scrubs and this one is very good. I love the Grapefruit scent and the coarseness of the scrub was great. My elbows and feet really needed the extra help a scrub like this gives them.




Optimism Mood Balm
Wonderful scent made up of Rosemary, Grapefruit and Litsea Cubeba.
I used this on my lips, wrists and just under my nose before going to bed and I found it very relaxing. I also used it on my lips during the day as a lip balm.



Peppermint Lip Balm
Great lip balm goes on smooth and easy the scent is perfect.



Cold & Flu Shower Steam
You place this little steamer on the floor of your shower and it slowly dissolves up into the steam while you shower which you then breath in.
I have not had a cold or the flu this season but if or should I say when I do I will use this.


Bag of Bath Salt Tubes
Choice of Six from the list.
I thought this was a great way to try several different scents. They even have Lemon and Grapefruit two of my favorites.

You will want to check out the sample packs and gift boxes its a great way to try several things. If you need something for baby they have several items including Baby Bath and Bottom Balm.

One more item that caught my eye is the Sinus Relief Inhalation Beads we have minor sinus trouble off and on and I like the idea of using this instead taking a pill. I will have to try it.

Russian Tea Cakes

Russian tea cakes appeared in Russia in the 18th century and were used in tea sharing ceremonies. Now you see them everywhere at Christmas. Similar cookies/pastry are the Mexican Wedding Cakes, Pecanballs, Snowballs and Butterballs.

1 cup Butter
1 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
1/8 tsp. Salt
1 1/2 cup Pecans Chopped Fine
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 1/4 cups Flour

Preheat Oven 350 F.

Beat butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy. Add 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt, beat until well blended. Stir in the flour and pecans.
Shape into 1-inch balls place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 12-15 minutes then roll while hot in remaining powdered sugar.
Cool on wire rack then roll again in powdered sugar.

Peppermint Brewed Coffee
INGREDIENTS

8 oz. dark brewed coffee

In a glass or mug, add Torani Peppermint syrup to strong brewed coffee and stir gently.

Add a dash to your hot chocolate its so good!

INGREDIENTS
1 oz. Torani Sugar Free Brown Sugar Cinnamon syrup
8 oz. dark brewed coffee
INSTRUCTIONS
In a glass or mug, add Torani Brown Sugar Cinnamon syrup to strong brewed coffee and stir gently.
